2.5 Billion People Likely To Suffer Hearing Loss By 2050: WHO Report
The World Health Organization's first "World Report on Hearing" has revealed that nearly 2.5 billion people will suffer from some form of hearing impairment by 2050. Out of the 2.5 billion people, 700 million will require rehabilitation and medical attention, the report added. However, it suggested that "a range of effective options" can prevent, over one billion people who are at risk and around 200 million people suffering with chronic ear infections, from hearing loss.
