422 Women Officers Make Way To Indian Army's Permanent Commission

Indian Army has considered 422 women candidates eligible for induction in permanent commission. However, 57 selected candidates have decided to opt-out of the commission. The candidates who were not recommended for the commission have been allowed to work up to 20 years and retire. Till now, Women were inducted in Army under short service commission. The permanent commission would provide them promotions and other powers.
