57 police officers resigned in New York after two colleagues suspended for shoving 75-year-old activist

57 police officers in New York have resigned in solidarity with two colleagues who were suspended after video of them shoving a 75-year-old peace activist Martin Gugino became viral. He had received several injuries to head and was hospitalised. 

ÔÇ£They are disgusted because of the treatment of two of their members, who were simply executing orders,ÔÇØ said John Evans, PBA president. The development is likely to heighten tensions in New York City.
