87.5 Lakh Pregnant Women & New Born Babies Not Registered Since Lockdown

40 lakh pregnant women and 47.5 lakh new-born were missing from the estimated number from the government data sheets since the nation-wide lockdown was imposed to contain the spread of Covid-19. India had an estimated  2.7 crore pregnancies and 2.45 crore children, of which only 12.5 lakhs pregnancies and 8.3 lakh new-born were registered as of June 12.
