Actor Ian Holm, who played Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings films, passes away at 88

Actor Ian Holm, known for playing Bilbo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films, passed away at the age of 88. He had been diagnosed with ParkinsonÔÇÖs Disease. ÔÇ£He died peacefully in hospital, with his family and carer. We will miss him hugely,ÔÇØ his agent said in a statement. His wife, Sophie de Stempel, documented his final days in a series of portraits on Instagram.
