Acute 'Digital Divide' in India, Suggests NSO Report

A recent study by National Statistical Organisation (NSO) indicated acute 'digital divide' in states, cities, villages and income groups across India. Reportedly, only one in ten households have a computer and only 25% homes have internet access through any medium including smartphones. Tech-hub states like Karnataka and Tamil Nadu have less than 20% internet penetration. Study also reveals that just 40% Indians have digital literacy in 15-29 age group.
