Administration on Alert After Locust Swarms Seen in Kanpur

Swarms of locust were seen in surrounding areas of Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh on June 30, and an alert has been issued to nearby areas. Locusts have been a threat in recent times, as they devour crops on their way creating shortage in food supply and hindrance in the livelihoods of many. "Police as well as the Health and Agricultural department have been put on alert" said Brahmadev Tiwari, District Magistrate.
