After Almost 60 Years, Nagaland Plays National Anthem In Assembly
Nagaland assembly hall has played the national anthem for the first time in 60 years. Initiated by Speaker Sharingain Longkumer during the budget session on February 12, the national anthem was played before and after the speaker's speech. Attaining its statehood in 1963, the north-eastern state has witnessed decades of violence and secessionist activities in the past. As per the Constitution, playing the national anthem in state assemblies is a mandatory protocol.
