Airports Authority Hands Over Three More Airports To Adani Group

In a bid to privatise airports, the Airports Authority of India on January 19 signed a 'concession agreement' with the Adani Group making them concessionaires of Guwahati, Jaipur and Thiruvanthapuram airports for the next 50 years. In February 2019, the Centre had invited bids for six airports which were won by the Adani Group. Earlier, during Oct-Nov 2020, the AAI handed the first three airports - Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Mangaluru - to the group.
