Amitabh Bachchan Reveals Origin Of Name 'Bachchan'

While talking to a contestant Bhagyashree Tayde from Maharashtra on Kaun Banega Crorepati, actor Amitabh Bachchan on October 18 revealed when and why he got "Bachchan" as a surname. Amitabh said, ''When I was about to get admitted to school'' his inter-caste parents simultaneously decided to give the surname that ''doesn't reflect a caste''. Reportedly, Amitabh's father, Harinash Rai Bachchan, used to use "Bachchan" as a pen name.
