Amnesty International Condemns Suppression Of Farm Law Protesters
Human rights body Amnesty International has condemned the Indian Government's retaliatory suppression of protesters, farmer leaders, and journalists. Citing the detention of Caravan journalist Mandeep Punia, the organization pressed for the unconditional release of those held merely for exercising their right to freedom of expression. Besides, Amnesty disapproved the authorities' move of blocking access to protest sites and banning social media accounts, instead of rightfully cracking down suspected perpetrators.
