Army Dog 'Axel' Dies During Kashmir Anti-Terrorist Operation

"Axel," an Indian Army dog, was killed on July 30 during a counter-terrorist operation in the Kashmir valley. The 26 Army Dog Unit's two-year-old was killed in battle after being shot by terrorist gunfire while participating in a counter-terrorist operation with the 29 Rashtriya Rifles unit in the region of 10 Sector RR counter-insurgency force. "After being hit, it showed some movement for 15 seconds and fell down," Army stated.
