Ashok Gehlot Withdraws From Congress Prez Race Amid Political Crisis

Amid political ruckus in Rajasthan, CM Ashok Gehlot withdrew his name from the Congress Presidential elections, scheduled on October 17. As per sources, Gehlot met with the Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi and apologised for the same. Furthermore, "I said I'll contest but now with that incident (Rajasthan-political crisis), I've decided not to contest the elections," said Gehlot. With this, there are two contenders, Shashi Tharoor and Digvijay Singh.
