Australia To Build Landmark Centre Of Historical Importance Worth $228 Million
After years of conflict, Ngurra will be built on the shore of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra. It will include a national resting place for indigenous remains and a new home for the government-backed body, AIATSIS. Ngurra will encompass Parliament House, the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House, the High Court, the National Gallery of Australia, and the National Portrait Gallery. Notably, the project received a mixed response.
