Aviation Ministry releases draft rules for drones, prohibits use for deliveries

The Civil Aviation Ministry released the draft Unmanned Aircraft System Rules, 2020, prohibiting the "carriage of payload" except as permitted by DGCA. It specified that only Nano class drones, not exceeding 250 grams, will be allowed to operate in India in general, at a maximum speed of 15 metres/second. However, "qualified remote pilots" can be allowed to operate heavier drones.
