Bengal-Bangladesh Ties Hit by Bengal Jolt

After Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's decision to not allow the entry of goods from Bangladesh via Petrapole-Benapole border since March, after which Bangladesh on July 2, refused to permit Indian trucks to cross the border. This has resulted in heavy damage to bilateral trade and the business has dropped from $2 billion (USD) to $424 million (USD) in April-May.
