Bengal: EC Vehicle Set On Fire Hours Before First Phase Elections
Hours before the first-phase of the West Bengal Assembly polls, a vehicle on election duty was set on fire late on March 26 at Bandwan in Purulia district. Reportedly, a group of people emerged from the forest and threw petrol-soaked material on the vehicle and then burned it in once Maoist-affected 'Janhalmahal' belt. However, no casualty has been reported in the incident. The vehicle was returning after dropping election officials at a polling booth.
