Bengal: Workers-Turned-Assistants At COVID Ward Protest Over Job Security
Discontented migrant workers hired at COVID-19 wards in West Bengal to assist patients staged a protest outside the state health department. They gathered on January 25 after some of their co-workers were released from duty following fall in active cases. Fearing job loss after March 31, the assistants now seek job security from the state government. The COVID-19 warriors also submitted a memorandum to the health department and await a reply within a week.
