Bengaluru: Parents Oppose Schools Teaching Kannada Language In English
Some private school teachers in Bengaluru are reportedly using English to teach Kannada language. They opine that it is for "easier" understanding. But, students' parents have opposed this vehemently. While claiming that the teachers replaced Kannada words with English, the parents said this "would remove the cultural and contextual heritage that is part of the language." However, they stated that Hindi is taught properly. Legally, all CBSE/ICSE schools in Karnataka must teach Kannada.
