Bihar Begins Tagging Of Migratory Birds In Bhagalpur For Conservation
Bihar has started tagging migratory birds with the help of non-profit Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS). Starting with tagging 91 birds in Bhagalpur district with satellite-enabled chips at the state’s newly built ringing centre, the move aims to conserve, track birds’ movement and study their origin, habitat, shelter and migratory routes. Becoming the fourth state to initiate such process, the state officials revealed that the two of the 13 global migratory flyways pass through Bihar.
