Bihar Declares Black Fungus An Epidemic As Cases Reach 100 Mark
Bihar has become another state to declare Mucormycosis (black fungus) as an epidemic. The decision has been taken as the Mucarmycosis cases reached 117 in the state by May 21. State Health Minister Mangal Pandey stated private hospitals will now be obligated to inform about the cases to the health department and patients will be treated free-of-cost. The government has procured 14,000 vials of Liposomal Amphotericin-B meant for treating Mucormycosis.
