Bihar Farmer Grows World's Costliest Veggie; Fetches Rs 1 Lakh/Kg
Bihar’s Aurangabad native Amresh Singh is cultivating the world's costliest crop 'Hop Shoots' that fetches him around Rs 1 lakh/kilogram. The 38-year-old bought the saplings from Varanasi's Indian Vegetable Research Institute and will deliver the product on special orders. Interestingly fetching whopping price, the crop is considered naturally beneficial against Tuberculosis, anxiety, depression, and insomnia. Touted as a game-changer for Indian farmers, Amresh is the only Indian to grow hop shoots.
