Bihar LJP Faces Another Jolt As 175 Functionaries Defect To BJP

Bihar's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) has witnessed nearly 175 functionaries, mainly panchayat presidents, defecting to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). One of the defectors said that they were feeling "suffocated" in the LJP. While State BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal welcomed the new BJP-joiners, the Chirag Paswan-led LJP claimed to have "thrown out" the turncoats long ago. Earlier, LJP's only MLC Nutan Singh had deserted the party on February 22 to join the BJP.
