BJP Appoints Mahendra Bhatt As Party's Uttarakhand Unit Chief, Replacing Mahesh Kaushik

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has names Mahendra Bhatt as the new chief of the party's Uttarakhand unit. Bhatt will replace Haridwar MLA Mahesh Kaushik. According to a senior party leader, Bhatt has climbed the ranks after working in Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, and BJP's youth wing. Bhatt is of RSS background, and is a former MLA in Nandaprayag of Chamoli district, reported PTI.
