BJP Sweeps All 6 Corporations In Gujarat Civic Polls; Wins 85% Wards

The BJP has amassed a massive victory in the Gujarat municipal elections, winning over 85% wards across the six municipal corporations. While the Congress obtained 43 of the declared seats, debutant Aam Aadmi Party clutched 18 seats. While the polling for 576 seats in Ahmedabad and five other civic corporations transpired on February 21, the elections to 81 municipalities, 31 district and 231 taluka panchayats are slated for February 28.
