Bombay HC Judge Rejects Hearing As Lawyer Removes Mask In Courtroom
In a surprising incident, the Bombay High Court on February 22 refused to proceed with a case after the appellant’s lawyer violated COVID-19 protocols by removing his mask. Reportedly, the single-judge bench of Justice Prithiviraj Chavan referred to SOPs and refused to hear the case. Moreover, the ongoing case is again hanging in due course. Currently, all courts in Maharashtra, including subordinate courts except Pune, have resumed physical hearings after the COVID-19 surge.
