British-Indian Author Wins Literary Prize For Her Book On Jallianwala
British-Indian political journalist and author Anita Anand's book 'The Patient Assassin: A True Tale of Massacre, Revenge and the Raj', has won a prestigious history-literary prize in the United Kingdom. The book, published in 2019, is about freedom fighter Udham Singh who assassinated General Dyre, the planner of the 1919 Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The judges showered praises about the book, calling it a "genuine historical classic".
