Buttler's Ton, Bowlers Help Royals A Comfortable 55-Run Victory Over SRH
It was raining boundaries at Arun Jaitley Stadium as Jos Buttler with his thunderous knock of 124 runs off 64 balls single handedly led Rajasthan Royals (RR) to a comfortable 55-run victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad. Invited to bat first on a batting-friendly pitch, SRH's campaign soon turned into a misery as batting maestros led by Englishman Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson (48 off 33-balls) went guns blazing by putting a second-wicket partnership of 150 runs. Setting target of 221, Jos Buttler sealed his maiden IPL century. Chasing the mammoth target, SRH openers Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey put 57 runs in just 6.1 overs, however notable spells from pacer Mustafizur Rahman and Chris Morris soon crashed their dreams by making it an uphill task. Moreover, their new in-form captain Kane Williamson could do nothing as RR’s strict bowling restricted them to 165. Winning its third match Royals now stand fifth in the points table while SRH trailed to eighth spot.
