Canada Eyes To Eliminate Single-Use Plastics Before 2022
Canada's Environmental Minister Jonathan Wilkinson announced that single-use plastics will be banned in the country by the end of 2021. The initiative aims to eliminate plastics waste in Canada by 2030. With this, plastic bags, straws, stir-sticks and others made from hard-to-recycle plastics will be removed as replacements are available for people. Reportedly, three million tonnes of plastics waste is disposed off in Canada annually, whereas only 9% is recycled.
