CBI Exonerates NCB's Rakesh Asthana In Sterling Biotech Bribery Case

The CBI has acquitted the BSF and NCB chief Rakesh Asthana over his involvement in the Sterling Biotech bribery case. A potential nominee as the next CBI chief, Asthana was inquired for being the suspected recipient of unaccounted money endorsed by Sterling’s fugitive owners - Sandesara Brothers. Claiming that nothing substantiated Asthana's involvement in the bank fraud case, the CBI held that transfers to suspicious RA were' running account’ and not Asthana.
