Centre Promises Expert Committee For Handling Odisha Forest Fires

Viewing the forest fires in Odisha's Simlipal National Park and similar forests, the Centre is planning to send an expert committee for effective containment of the fires through technical support. Reportedly, assurance arrived after the state's BJP delegation submitted a memorandum soliciting Forest Minister Prakash Javadekar's mediation. Besides, the memorandum sought efficient coordination between the central and the state forest departments while formulating long-term remedial and preventive actions against future wildfires.
