Centre Sets Rules For Content Showed On Social Media, OTT Platforms
The Union government finalized rules for self-regulation of contents on OTT platforms and social media on February 26. The Centre has mandated social media intermediaries to register complaints of users under 24 hours. Moreover, contents involving nudity must be removed within 24 hours. Meanwhile, OTT platforms are mandated to have grievance redressal officers to address anti-India content along with sexually explicit content and have self-regulating body for the same.
