Chennai: International Player Teaches Chess To Underprivileged Children
In an inspiring initiative, international chess player R Raghavan is teaching the game to underprivileged children in Chennai. Raghavan travels to Thiruvanmiyur and Korrukupet to take chess classes in orphanages and has taught over 200 children. Born in a middle-class family, Raghavan is inspired by Vishwanathan Anand and wants to be a Grandmaster. He also bagged a UNICO World Record for holding an event where 200 players played 2000 rounds of chess in 75 minutes.
