Chennai: Non-COVID Hospitals Cannot Deny 'Lifesaving' Treatment
The Tamil Nadu government has directed the non-COVID hospitals to reserve beds to treat COVID patients, in emergency conditions, after receiving complaints regarding denial of emergency treatment to COVID patients. The director of medical and rural health services stressed that the patients should be given “health measures to stabilize and preserve life,” before referring to a COVID hospital. The director also warned the hospitals of legal action if they fail to adhere to it.
