China & Solomon Islands Sign Agreement Amid Security Risks
China and the Solomon Islands have signed a military agreement amid security risks. Under the agreement, Chinese Foreign Ministry's spokesperson shared, China would work in cooperation with Honiara to maintain the social order, help tackle natural calamities and to protect national security. Australia and New Zealand have been concerned about China's growing military influence. Australia fears that China could even build a naval base in the Solomon Islands.
