Chinese Govt Advises Citizens To Stock Essentials In Case Of Emergency
Following the COVID-related outbreak, the Chinese government advised households to store up on basic necessities in case of an emergency. Concerns about supply constraints were raised after Covid-19 outbreaks, and abnormally heavy rainfall led to a spike in vegetable prices. The objective, according to a Communist Party-backed newspaper, was to ensure locals were not caught off guard if there was a lockdown in the region.
