Christchurch Shooter Sentenced to Unprecedented Punishment: New Zealand
New Zealand mosque shooter Brenton Tarrant on August 27 was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole. Reportedly, such a sentence is unprecedented in New Zealand's history. Calling the accused's actions "wicked", the judge said that pronouncing a terminable term was not adequate. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern also welcomed the sentence, and said, "His deserves to be a lifetime of complete and utter silence."
