City Vendors Protest After Chandigarh Government Bans Fireworks
Chandigarh Administration placed a full ban on the sale and usage of fireworks on October 12 in the city until further notice. The decision was made during a meeting presided over by UT-Adviser Dharam Pal. Any disobedience of instructions would result in penalties under sections 51-60 of Disaster-Management-Act 2005, judicial action under Section-188 of IPC, and other related laws. However, cracker-dealers'-Association made a statement claiming that it is one-sided.
