CJI Ramana To Retire On August 26; Made Ground-Breaking Judicial Decisions Throughout His Tenure
N V Ramana, the Chief Justice of India, is retiring on August 26 after a one-year and four-month term. He will be followed by Justice U U Lalit, the Supreme Court's senior-most justice after him. During his tenure, CJI Ramana made ground-breaking judicial and administrative judgments, including an investigation into Pegasus surveillance. While the Chief Justice handled some major cases during his term, some of them are still undergoing judgment.
