Cochin International Airport Authorizes Floating Solar Power Panels
Kerala's Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL), noted for being the world's first solar-powered airport, commissioned two floating solar power plants on January 17. Using French technology, CIAL has presented economical high-density polyethylene floats upon which 1300 photovoltaic panels were installed. Reportedly, the set-up was placed over two artificial lakes located in CIAL's golf course. CIAL founder-managing director VJ Kurian said we are "trying our best to reduce the carbon footprints."
