Countries Table Innovative Ideas To Boost Tourism During Pandemic
Many countries are formulating innovative ways to open up their tourism in this pandemic. According to Timestravel, Thailand’s new “island-hopping” program allows fully vaccinated foreign travelers to live in Phuket quarantine-free for 14 days before "hopping" to other seaside destinations. They can visit other parts of the island after quarantining for seven days at the second destination. On the other hand, Italy’s Foreign Affairs Ministry (MFA) has launched a video game called, "ITALY. Land of Wonders". The game is a part of the MFA programming strategy and aims at showcasing the wonders of the country on a global platform. “It’s our job to leverage any opportunity we see to promote our country and its culture to the world,” Ambassador Lorenzo Angeloni said. However, the country has not made clear whether foreign travelers need to get the new “green pass” required by their citizens to visit sporting events, museums, and restaurants.
