COVID-19: Contact Tracing Apps Ineffective in Containing Virus Transmission
Lancet Digital Health journal has revealed that, in absence of proper public health control measures, contact tracing apps are ineffective in containing the coronavirus transmission. The study opined that the contact tracing systems are meagerly efficacious. Lead author Isobel Braithwaite stated, “The systems will require large-scale uptake by the population and strict adherence to quarantine advice by contacts notified to have a significant impact on reducing transmission.”
