WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that COVID-19 could be an opportunity for India to speed up a health insurance scheme Ayushman Bharat. "I know there is a very strong commitment from the government to speed up the implementation of Ayushman Bharat," he added. Ayushman Bharat was launched in 2018. India became the sixth worst-hit nation by the COVID-19 on June 5.
