Covid-19 is Less Deadly to Children than Measles and Pneumonia: Poonawalla

Serum Institute CEO Adar Poonawalla said that the Covid-19 is not as deadly as measles and pneumonia for children, although they can be potent carriers of the virus. He added that children will only be vaccinated after procuring enough safety data. Poonawalla said that the frontline, healthcare workers and the elderly will be prioritized over general public.  The vaccine will be available by February 2021 and will cost Rs 1000 for two doses, he further stated.
