COVID-19 Travel Restrictions Cripple African Tourism Industry
Tourism industry in African nations has been crippled due to the travel restrictions imposed to counter COVID-19. South African hotel group Sun International Ltd announced that It would have to shutdown its two casinos completely, owing to huge financial losses. The Kenyan Government has also estimated a loss of about $511 million in its revenues generated from hotels businesses. Reportedly, the industry had garnered $168 billion for Africa last year.
