COVID Vaccines Not Authorised For Children Below 18 Years: Centre
Union Health Ministry has not authorised the administration of two recently approved COVID vaccines on children below 18 years of age. Reportedly, a letter from the ministry has cited the comparative factsheet for the vaccines as the reason behind the decision. Earlier, the Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) has granted approval for the use of the vaccines - Bharat Biotech's 'Covaxin' and Serum Institute of India's 'Covishield' - on children aged above 12 years.
