Customs Seizes 1.42 Kg Gold Hidden In 2 Flyers' Rectum At Chennai Airport
The Customs authority at the Chennai airport on January 13 seized 1.42 kg of gold worth Rs 72.6 lakhs and other items including cigarettes, smartphones, laptops and liquor amounting to Rs 12.4 lakhs. Reportedly, the two passengers arriving from Dubai concealed the gold in paste form in their rectum while the rest of the items were recovered from their luggage. Confiscating the illegal items, the officials have taken the accused into their custody.
