Dattatreya Hosabale Takes Charge As RSS General Secretary

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) elected Dattatreya Hosabale as its 'Sarkaryawah' (General Secretary) on March 20. Replacing the incumbent 73-year-old Suresh 'Bhaiyyaji' Joshi, Hosabale will head the position for a term of three years. Earlier, Hosabale was the 'Sah-Sarakaryavah' (Joint General Secretary) of the faction. Born in Karnataka's Shivamogga, the 65-year-old is a post graduate in English literature. Besides, he was initially associated with student wing 'Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad' (ABVP).
