DCGI Gives Emergency Use Approval To DRDO's Anti-COVID Drug
The DCGI has given an emergency use approval to the DRDO developed drug capable of curing COVID-19. The drug, in powder form to be taken orally by dissolving in water, is jointly developed by DRDO lab and Hyderabad’s Dr. Reddy's laboratory. Reportedly, using the therapeutic application of the drug 2-deoxy-D-glucose (2-DG), the novel drug showed signs of faster recovery in hospitalized patients while reducing supplemental oxygen dependency during clinical trials.
