Death Toll Climbs To 25 As Severe Rains Flood Kentucky In United States
At least 25 people have perished in floods caused by severe rains in eastern Kentucky, including four children, and additional deaths are feared, said state's governor, Andy Beshear, on July 30. "This is still an emergency situation. We are in search and rescue mode. Again, that count is going to continue to go up," Beshear stated. On July 29, President Joe Biden designated Kentucky a major disaster, allowing federal funds to be provided to the state.
